ISPL TO CELEBRATE ITS
SILVER ANNIVERSARY AT METS
International Safety Products
Ltd, world's leading manufacturer of inflatable
marine lifejackets, will be celebrating 25 years
of business when it attends METS in Amsterdam.
The company was founded in 1981 and entered the
safety equipment market by selling factored products
to overseas markets. Since then the company has
grown steadily and today manufactures a complete
range of lifejackets and immersion suits at its
factory on Merseyside, England. The company has
now grown to the point where it achieves an annual
turnover of more than £ million from products
it has developed for users in the marine leisure,
commercial and defence sectors.

Sales director Geoff Billington believes that much of
ISPL's success is due to the company's established reputation
for consistent quality and innovation. "We are
among a very small number of companies that feel an
obligation to develop new products and introduce innovations
that will increase the safety of seafarers," he
said. "There is no shortage of companies willing
to copy existing ideas and manufacture lifejackets as
cheaply as possible. However, we believe that our 25
years in the business shows that success comes from
investing in R&D and continually working to raise
the bench marks of marine safety and product quality."

Despite the high volume of ISPL's output, the company
has developed manufacturing systems that have enabled
it to achieve significant sales from its ability to
manufacture bespoke lifejackets in batches as small
as 250 units. Many of the best known names in the marine
industry can today be found on lifejackets manufactured
for them by ISPL. Customers are able to specify the
colour, style and specifications of their lifejackets
which are supplied with their company's name or logo
printed on the cover. This creates a unique and distinctive
product that meets the highest standards of manufacturing
quality and conforms to all necessary performance requirements.
A wide range of organisations are consequently able
to generate revenue from life jacket sales while remaining
confident that the products will match their own standards
of quality and performance.
ISPL's plans for the coming year are to raise the profile
of its restyled Arctic Tern logo found on its own Challenger
range of lifejackets. Challenger lifejackets have been
developed for use by professional seafarers and offshore
workers and combine the durability needed for hard daily
use with the company's most advanced design features.
These include overlapping lobes that, when inflated,
protect the wearer's face against waves and spray and
are now recognised as one of the company's most significant
innovations. Established customers as well as first
time visitors to the ISPL stand at METS (No 3415) are
now being invited to meet the company's expanding sales
team and to join them in celebrating the company's anniversary
and their optimism for its continued growth.
